The Audit Log feature in Aleph allows you to monitor user activity, providing insights into who is accessing data, which queries are being executed, and which tables are being utilized. Maintaining oversight of data access and usage is crucial for both security and operational efficiency. Aleph's Audit Log feature offers a comprehensive view of all actions performed within the platform over the past 30 days. You can see detailed information about user activities, including executed queries and accessed tables.

Accessing the Audit Log

  1. Navigate to the Settings section on the left-hand side of the Aleph web app

  2. Select the Audit Log option

  3. Review the details of all actions performed in your Aleph account over the past 30 days

Understanding the Audit Log Data

The Audit Log provides detailed information for each recorded action:

  • Name: The name of the user who performed the action.

  • Email: The email address of the individual who performed the action.

  • Timestamp: The exact date and time when the action occurred.

  • Type: The category or nature of the action executed (e.g., query, integration_created).

  • Data: The details about the action like the actual SQL query that was run to access or modify data.

Exporting the Audit Log

How to Download the Audit Log as an Excel File

  1. Go to https://app.getaleph.com/audit-log

  2. Click on the "Download as Excel" button at the bottom of the results set.

  3. The Audit Log will be downloaded to your computer as an Excel (.xlsx) file.

  4. Open the file using Microsoft Excel or any compatible spreadsheet software.

  5. You can now sort, filter, and analyze the data as needed.
