KPIs

A KPI block is a simple way to display one or two values based on Custom Data. An example might be to showcase the current Net Profit for a given month, and to compare Net Profit across two different scenarios.

KPIs make use of the Custom Data pane, which includes the ability to reference and work withđź“„ Variables. Only numerical values will be displayed within the KPI block.
By default, there is a primary metric located in cell B1, and a secondary metric located in B2. The first row (primary) will serve as your x-axis (labels) and the second row (secondary) will start your series-data or values. The rows underneath the first can be used to add additional categorization, dimensionality, or series values.
There are two primary areas to adjust a KPI block, the “Data” and “Format” tabs, which function similar to other blocks.
Data Pane
There are three main options that exist within this area:
What data to use (Excel vs Custom Data Workbook).
Which metrics to use, and where they exist within the Workbook.
A description that’s displayed at the bottom of the KPI.
By default, cells A1 and A2 will contain “Primary Metric” and “Secondary Metric” labels respectively. Any values in cells B1 and B2 will be displayed, with B1 displayed in larger font. You can make use of any cells within the Workbook itself, but only two values can be displayed.
Format
Formatting is rather simple and allows a user to customize how each individual metric is displayed. There’s a selection of pre-created formats, but any custom format can be applied, similar to Excel’s custom format.
Conditional formatting can also be applied to one or both metrics independently. The conditional formatting will color each metric based on the defined criteria.
