What is Aleph used for?

Aleph is a tool that allows teams to better use their financial data without having to leave spreadsheets. Our current feature set focuses on reporting, budgeting, headcount, planning, and forecasting.

Our customers use our reporting feature to automate recurring and ad hoc reports, helping users present data better and faster. Aleph also enables our customers to collaborate during the budgeting and forecasting process, eliminating back and forth and enabling department heads to focus on high-impact work streams. Customers upload their models and models to the Aleph WebApp, creating additional outputs and reports with actuals, budgeted, and forecasted results. Customers also use Aleph for headcount planning by integrating their HRIS and ATS. Overall, Aleph saves our customers hundreds of hours and allows our customers to develop a holistic view of their business.

Does Aleph work in Google Sheets?

Yes, Aleph works in both Google Sheets and Excel. The functionality is the same and customers can upload both Google Sheets and Excel files to the Aleph WebApp. Customers can also create outputs and reports referencing both Google Sheets and Excel files.

What happens if I share this with someone that doesn't have an Excel license/Aleph license/etc.?

If the person has Excel, you’re just sharing a spreadsheet. They just won’t be able to drill down, or use other Aleph features in that sheet unless they have an Aleph license.

If they don’t have Excel, we can push the same models to Sheets, or you can use our Workbooks feature, which operates similarly to Excel but gives you the ability to share with permissions and version control.

Product Questions

What integrations does Aleph offer?

Aleph integrates with leading ERP, HRIS & ATS, Sales & CRM, BI & Analytics, Operations, eCommerce, Product & Customer Success, and Billing & Payments software providers. Please see our website for the full list. If you don't see the integration you're looking for, please reach out to us at contact@aleph.com.

How long do integrations typically take?

Adding a new integration typically takes us less than 48 hours. Integrating your data for the first time with an existing provider (e.g., Netsuite) typically takes from 5-20 minutes, depending on the amount of data.

Can I pull in data from multiple entities or ERPs?

Yes! You would set up the integration to the various ERPs. We can assist in consolidating entities.

How much data can Aleph handle? What if we have millions of entries?

Aleph has no limits on data. The limitations will be tied to your other tools, like Excel. If you try to dump a million lines in Excel, it will break, but Aleph won’t.

How is the data getting pulled so quickly? When I run a report in Netsuite, it takes ~20 seconds to create.

Aleph works in two steps. First, it syncs with Netsuite to push all of the data into Aleph. That takes about 7 minutes, so most clients do that in the morning each day. The second step is pulling data from Aleph to your spreadsheet, and that takes 2 seconds.

How long does it take to learn how to use the function/explore features?

A core element of Aleph is that we require virtually no training. A majority of our users can figure out most of our features without any guidance, but we also have training as part of our onboarding process and a full-knowledge basis. Your whole team will know how to use Aleph within an hour or two.

Can I make changes to the formatting, like the header or the color?

Some elements of Aleph’s outputs, like the branding, are configurable. But at the end of the day, it’s Excel, so whatever structure you can build in Excel, you can build with Aleph
