Managing your Template
Last updated: October 22, 2024
What is the task template?
The task template is the primary place for managing the recurring tasks on your Checklist with a few key features. Here you can:
Create tasks that automatically recur based on your fiscal year: Monthly, Quarterly, Annually; or, in specific close periods (ie, a task to be completed every March close).
Organize your checklist by dragging & dropping tasks to control how tasks appear each period, with the ability to move tasks across categories
Make bulk edits to groups of tasks at a time
Accessing the task template
The task template is available from any Close period by clicking on the date picker and selecting “Manage Template” or clicking the 3-dot "more" menu in the top right of the Checklist and selecting "Mange Template".
Creating new recurring tasks
From the task template, hover over any existing Category and clicking “Add Task” on the right of the Category header or click the plus button in the top right of the page.
Enter your task details and click Save.
Importing Additional Tasks
You can import additional tasks from an Excel or CSV file without overwriting your existing tasks! If a new entity comes on board or a new process requiring the creation of multiple tasks, an import can be a great way to approach task creation.
To import additional tasks, simply follow the same steps from📄 Importing An Existing Checkliststarting with preparing your Excel or CSV file.
Organizing your Checklist & Subtasks
From the task template, hover over any task
Move your mouse over to the left side of the row and click + drag from the handlebar to lift and move the task in the list
Drag and drop the task to perform the desired action.
Reorder within categories

Applying your Template to a Close period
Your Template will automatically apply to each new period you open. If you'd like to clear a period you have already opened and load your latest Template, you can do this from the period itself.
Go to your latest open period
Click the 3-dot menu in the top right
Choose "Reset & reload period"
Confirm
Note: Selecting "Reset & reload period" will delete all versions of the tasks in the period you are re-loading the Template into. If you already have activity in the period, will lose any comments and have to resubmit tasks.
