Manage Entities

Numeric allows you to add multiple entities to your workspace to provide additional levels of organization to your checklist. Checklist tasks can be tagged to one or more entities indicating which of the entities defined in your workspace is connected to a task.
When a GL is integrated with Numeric, entities are automatically created based on the entity definitions in your source system. These GL created entities can be used in your checklist and also support by entity reconciliations and by entity flux (i.e., variance analysis).
Adding Entities
Head into the Checklist and click the 3-dot menu at the top right of the page and choose Manage entities
Click Add Entity
Type in a name for your new entity and an abbreviation
Hit “Create entity” to save
The new entity is now available to be added to any tasks!
Renaming or Deleting Entities
Entities that have been manually added to your workspace can be renamed or deleted.
Head into the Checklist and click the 3-dot menu at the top right of the page and choose Manage entities
Hover on the entity and two options ("Edit" and "Delete")will appear on the right most side of the entity
Entities created by a GL integration are not currently editable within the UI. Please reach out to support@numeric.io if you have any questions regarding these GL generated entities.
Adding Entities to Checklist Tasks
Once you have created entities (either manually or through a GL integration), you can tag checklist tasks and journal entries using these entities.
Individual Entity Assignment
Click on the name of a task or journal entry in the checklist to open the sidebar
Within the sidebar, select the + Entity field (see screenshot below)
3. Select one or more entities from the resulting menu and select "Save"
Bulk Entity Assignment
You can also update entity assignments in Numeric using the Bulk editing feature. Refer to this help center article for additional details:📄 Making Bulk Edits
Note: Multiple entities assigned to an task or journal entry does not result in multiple sign-offs. In the event you want a sign-off to occur for each entity, pleases create a separate task for each one.
Organizing by Entity
To organize your checklist by entity, utilize the "View" button in the top right of the checklist and select "Group By: Entity".
