Connecting BambooHR
Last updated: October 7, 2024
After this article...
You'll be able to connect the BambooHR integration to Lumos and resolve common setup issues.
Required plan & roles
Your company needs to be on the BambooHR Enterprise plan to use the integration.
The BambooHR user account that creates the API token for Lumos should be an admin that can view all users and all employee records, and needs permission to manage the lifecycle of all users.
If the BambooHR user that creates the token can't view all employee records, employee status info will be inaccurate for any employee it can't view!
Instructions
In BambooHR
1. Go to the Settings page.
2. Click API Keys under Account Settings.
3. Generate a new API key to use for the Lumos configuration and save the value for later.
4. Click on Account Info under Account Settings.
5. Scroll to find your BambooHR URL and get the URL subdomain. For example, if your URL is lumos.bamboohr.com, the subdomain will be "lumos". Save this value for later.
In Lumos
1. Find the BambooHR card in your Lumos integrations and click on it (Reconnect or add new)
2. Paste the subdomain value from step 5 above into the Instance Name field.
3. Paste the API key from step 3 above into the API Key field.
4. Click Connect BambooHR to connect the integration.
Troubleshooting
I can't connect the BambooHR integration.
Make sure you're on the Enterprise plan, and that your user has access to view and manage the lifecycle of all users in your BambooHR environment.
